Our book van was born out of our shared passion for books and the determination (some might call it stubbornness) to start and open their own bookshop. After meeting in an Oxfam bookshop in Guildford, Surrey, where Chris was the manager and Emma a volunteer, we knew that we wanted to have our own little space where book lovers like us could come together and find their next reads, or the perfect gifts for family and friends.

However, faced with the challenge of finding an affordable way to make our dream a reality, we decided to take a unique approach by launching a mobile bookshop that travels to our customers in the Lake District rather than opening a physical shop on the high street that we simply couldn't afford. We believe that our personal touch and dedication to sharing our love for books make us stand out as the only operating mobile bookshop in England that comes to you - our customers.
